For several years, I have explored my own local area with a view to offer a workshop in the spectacular areas of Northern Sweden near Abisko and my own region in Northern Norway. There is a unique selection of landscape types added to this workshop. We start at the height with high mountains, plateaus, birch forests, rivers and canyons and move down to the fjords, to mountainous areas, the sea, boulders, pine forests, shorelines, vegetation and waterfalls.
The intention is to allow the participants to experience a great variety of landscape types, while we follow the autumn colors from the high mountains all the way down to the shoreline. The vast majority of places we will visit will be completely unknown to most participants. We explore "back roads" and paths that have taken me a long time to discover.
WORKSHOP
During these days, the focus, in addition to experiencing the different landscapes, will be intensive learning about how to think and approach the different types of landscapes we are traveling through. There will be several daily demonstrations and discussions in the field, where I explain ways to approach a river, for example; different types of compositions, shutter speeds, aperture, filter usage, focus stacking, variation and effect of different perspectives and camera angles, etc. I want the participants to expand their toolbox and increase their flexibility and approach to landscape photography.
I will be available for the group throughout the day in the field and in the evenings when we go through the pictures viewing and working on the day's catch. With a smaller group like this, it means that each participant will receive "one to one" instructions/guiding both in the field and at the computer.
We will have some reviews of submitted work where we together analyse and give feedback on each other's photos. From experience I know this is very useful learning. I will also have a few lectures before or after we photograph (depending on weather).
PROGRAMME
A typical day will start with breakfast where we make packed lunches and fill our thermoses before heading out into the field. Then it's out to the different locations where you will have plenty of time to photograph and I will have demonstrations and if you need any help or input, I will be available throughout the day. Around noon we will have our lunch in the field or in the car, before visiting some new locations again. There will also be time for questions and direct guidance / discussions / exchange of ideas while we are out in the field.
Upon arrival, there will be time to work on photos, before we have dinner at the hotel or a restaurant nearby. Afterwards, there will be more time for discussions, lectures, reviewing photos or working with your own photos.

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY:
The trip requires some walking in moderate hilly countryside. We will not wander far from where we park (at the most a few hundred meters) but the terrain may be difficult or rocky in parts.
The trip is intended for photography enthusiasts looking for a fantastic opportunity to take photographs of a spectacular part of Norway and Sweden under the expert guidance of Trym Ivar Bergsmo.
