NORWAY : facing the North

Kirkemellom is an Odyssey through all the churches in Lofoten and Vesterålen. This project is a collaboration between the Norwegian musician and writer, Ola Bremnes, Svein Spjelkavik designer and cultural worker at GOD STREK and myself. Due to the hash and wet climate, the churches are our oldest buildings. And for centuries they were also the centre of activity in all the local communities a long the coast. We met people who could tell us something interesting about the history of the church or individuals who themselves had had a strong experience or relationship to these buildings.
